921 Television Production: Spotlight on Climate Change
For the young filmmaker, budding scientist or environmentalist, this camp offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of visual storytelling and science communication. Through compelling and relevant storytelling, television can provide a powerful communication tool to engage the public in scientific issues that impact their lives and change actions and attitudes. With Pacific Science Center teachers, conduct experiments and research issues impacting the environment, with a focus on global climate change. With Seattle Community Access Network (SCANtv), explore the ins and outs of video production including storyboarding, and camera and shot composition. Equipped with an understanding of climate change and knowledge of video production, you'll script, act, film and produce a Public Service Announcement that will run on cable television and you'll take home on DVD.
This program is a collaboration between Pacific Science Center and Seattle Community Access Network (SCANtv), giving youth a voice and stressing the importance of addressing scientific issues facing their generation.
