Beautiful beads, sparkling crystals and shiny metals are the things jewelry is made of...but is there more than just glitz? Delve beyond the gleaming surface of jewelry to explore the depths of its scientific beauty. As you create chic jewelry of your own using real gemstones and semi-precious metals, investigate the material and chemical properties that impart beauty to your creations. Examine crystals while you unearth the geology that created them, then explore raw materials at UW's Mineral Lab and discover why some make better jewels than others. This is a gem of a camp!
